Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Wednesday took notice of the death of a child maid employed by brother of a serving Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa minister - a close aide of Chief Minister Pervez Khattak. According to news reports aired by a section of media, the young maid, employed by Shoaib Ghani, brother of KP Minister for Higher Education Mushtaq Ghani, had died mysteriously at a hospital in Abbottabad on January 25.

Taking notice of the issue, the Chief Justice has directed the KP Inspector General of Police (IGP) to submit a report on the matter within three days.

Earlier on Wednesday, a fact-finding committee formed to probe the matter had recommended the grave exhumation and post-mortem of the deceased.

Reportedly, health of the deceased deteriorated after eating fruits earlier this week. She later died at a hospital in Abbottabad on Thursday.

KP IGP Salahuddin Mehsud had launched an inquiry into the incident on Sunday last.

The 11-year-old victim, employed along with her elder sister at the minister's residence, had a hereditary disease which had caused her difficulty in breathing.
